I am very sad to see David Cameron leave office, he has been an excellent leader who has brought about positive reforms within the conservative party, Government and the country. I wish him well as he decides on his future.
For the sake of this country’s continued unity and prosperity I think it is key that the next leader of the Conservative party, and therefore the country, is someone who brings experience, competence and gravitas to the role of Prime Minister. Following the result of the EU Referendum we need focus and direction to deliver new relationships and agreements to ensure our future position and role in the world.
I have known Theresa for a number of years and have always admired her straight talking and direct approach that delivers results. I will therefore be supporting her in her bid to lead the Conservative party and take our country forward.
